Anti-Dilution Act The Trademark Anti-Dilution Act is a fairly recent law that deals with situations where an owner of a famous trademark or service mark feels that the value of the trademark is being diluted even though the subsequent user of the trademark is using the trademark in a different class of goods or services. The statute only applies to "famous" marks although the meaning of this term is not defined. This statute has not be thoroughly tested in the courts so it remains to be seen what the long-term ramifications will be. The Legal Information Institute provides Title 15 of the US Code, which encompasses the Anti-Dilution Action.
