AT&T v. Portland, et al.

On June 22, 2000, the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed an earlier June 4, 1999 District Court decision requiring AT&T  to provide "open access" to its cable modem lines.  The Court concluded that the Communications Act prohibits the City of Portland from conditioning the transfer of a cable franchise on non-discriminatory access to AT&T's cable broadband network.
