Junk E-mail Decisions and Litigation

AOL v. S. Bliss and Patricia Depaola

In 1998, AOL filed suit against S. Bliss and Patricia Depaola for transmitting unauthorized, unsolicited and unwanted commercial electronic mail to AOL members.  Despite requests to cease these activities, Defendants continued to send junk e-mail to AOL members advertising, among other things, the sale of "Beanie Babies" at a discounted rate.  Read the December 1999 Order of Judgment entered against the Defendants in connection with AOL's Motion for Default Final Judgment, Default Damages, and Permanent Injunctive relief.
