Ticketmaster Corp., et al. v. Tickets.com, Inc.

U.S. District Court Judge Harry L. Hupp issued the first ruling on the issue of hyperlinking in favor of Tickets.com, the defendant in a lawsuit filed by Ticketmaster Corporation and Ticketmaster Online CitySearch. Judge Hupp dismissed four of Ticketmaster's claims, ruling that "hyperlinking does not itself involve a violation of the Copyright Act... since no copying is involved."
