America Online, Inc. v.
AOL International
On August 21, 2000, a WIPO Arbitration and
Mediation Center panel ruled that the domain name, "aolpakistan.net", registered
by AOL International, is confusingly similar to the trademark in which America Online has
rights and that the domain name has been registered and used in bad faith. The panel
ordered AOL International to transfer the registration of the domain name to America
Online, Inc.
