Gentry v. eBay Inc.

On January 18, 2001, San Diego Superior Court Judge Linda B. Quinn ruled that eBay is not liable for the sale of fake sports memorabilia on its auction site. The decision represents another successful application of the 47 U.S.C. § 230 code which says that service providers are not liable for information provided by a third-party user.
